Ryedale School, opened in 1953, is a comprehensive secondary school in Nawton, North Yorkshire, with a catchment area that includes Helmsley, and Kirkbymoorside up to Hovingham. The school provides for learners aged 11 to 16, and in September 2010 had 555 students. It has Leading Edge status, specialist status for Performing Arts, Science and Mathematics, and regularly achieves higher than average GCSE results. As of 2011 the head teacher is Richard Crane, and Chair of Governors, Sue Balf. Every year the school performs a carol service in the Church of All Saints, Helmsley.
